"Wonderful Kashmir travel package, the scenic tour of Kashmir was breathtaking."
There's no single right answer, but there is a genuinely useful one depending on when you're travelling. Here's how to think about timing.
May through July is Kashmir's genuine peak season, and popular hotels and houseboats can fill up well ahead of those dates. If you're set on travelling then, giving yourself 2 to 3 months is a reasonable buffer, not just a sales tactic to rush you into booking.
Outside peak summer, availability is generally more forgiving. Autumn and winter travellers often book with just a few weeks' notice and still get a solid range of options, since demand simply isn't as concentrated.
Booking close to your travel dates during peak season doesn't mean a trip is impossible — it more often means fewer choices in a specific hotel category, or needing more flexibility on which properties are available. It's genuinely worth asking rather than assuming you've missed the window.
There's no real downside to reaching out 5 or 6 months ahead to start planning and get a sense of pricing, but exact hotel confirmations sometimes work better closer to the date, since availability further out isn't always fully locked in on the hotel side. Early conversation, later confirmation is a reasonable way to think about it.

"Excellent Kashmir adventure tours! Safe, fun and memorable."
"It's a very good agency."
For peak season (May to July), booking 2 to 3 months ahead is a reasonable buffer. Shoulder seasons and winter generally allow more flexibility, sometimes just a few weeks ahead.
Late booking during peak season can mean limited hotel availability in popular categories, though it's often still possible to arrange something — it's worth checking rather than assuming it's too late.
Not necessarily, especially for peak season travel, though exact hotel confirmations sometimes work better closer to the date. We can still discuss planning and rough pricing that far ahead.
Not always — pricing depends more on season, hotel category and group size than purely on how far ahead you book, though early booking does help with availability.
